How the calculation works
The result is an estimate for maintaining one average pace from today through your deadline.
-
1. Find the remaining pages
The calculator subtracts your current page from the total. If you will skip an index or appendix, use the last page you actually intend to read.
-
2. Estimate reading days
The calendar days through the deadline are weighted by your reading days per week and rounded down, with a minimum of one day, for a conservative estimate. Reading days are distributed evenly across the full period.
-
3. Round up the daily target
Remaining pages are divided by estimated reading days and rounded up to a whole page so the total target covers the plan.
Reading pace calculator FAQ
Should I enter the page I am currently looking at?
Yes. It will be counted as completed. Enter 0 if you have not begun the book.
Does the calculation include the deadline itself?
Yes. Both today and the deadline are counted as available days.
How do I allow for two days off each week?
Select 5 reading days per week. The estimate spreads those reading days across the full period.
Turn the calculated pace into a daily record
Each time you update your current page, Page Tracker clearly compares your planned and actual progress, helping you keep the right pace through the finish date.
